Product Description
The Sennheiser CX 200 Street II are a mid-priced pair of in-ear headphones that offer a good blend of sound quality and design. Coming from a well-known brand in audio, do these headphones offer as good an experience as the more costly Apple version with which they are comparable?
On first glance these white and grey headphones are sleek and modern. They do look similar to a pair of Apple headphones which is of course a plus for some and not for others. The in-ear canal headphones come in a choice of three sizes, so it’s easy to find the right fit, and once in, these headphones offer all-day comfort. One of the major plus points is the finger contouring on the back of the buds which helps when handling them.
The sound quality of the Sennheiser CX 200 Street IIs is impressive and more than enough for everyday listening. Whilst some audiophiles may be put off by the seemingly low price, they really do deliver on sound. The ‘passive noise cancellation’ has been designed to block out ambient sounds whilst still allowing the user to hear what they need to hear. The range of bass to treble sound quality is good, impressive even for headphones of this price, and the quality remains consistent when listening to radio, both speech and music.
Disadvantages are few but do include the feel of the build. These headphones are certainly not as sturdy feeling as higher-priced options from the same company. The 1.2m cable may be a benefit for some but may be a bit irritating for others.
Overall these are a great pair of earphones and a good entry level option for those who haven’t had a pair of Sennheiser’s before. The slightly flimsy build is reflected in the cost whilst the sound quality and functionality far outstrips the price. The two year warranty also makes them a sound purchase.
