Product Description

Recreate the magic of the pre-Disney Star Wars with the iconic space station from the original trilogy with incredible details.

LEGO Star Wars - Death Star (75159)

  • Just over 4000 pieces in total
  • Intended for ages 16 and up
  • Lots of beloved Star Wars characters' figurines

"That's No Moon!"

The instantly recognisable, spherical space station of Death Star is an undeniable part of sci-fi film history and, despite their incompetence when it comes to producing a coherent film trilogy with actual heart and soul, Disney are still preserving the series' tradition alive by keeping the ever-so-impressive LEGO sets coming like The Mandalorian Helmet (75328). This set is the "improved" version of the Death Star (10188) set with some minor changes. The most obvious one is the green superlaser that utterly destroyed Alderaan in A New Hope, which appears much stronger this time around. The set includes intricate interior details like Emperor Sheev Palpatine's, a.k.a. Darth Sidious', throne room, the conference chamber and the trash compactor with a moveable wall. There is also a removable section on the surface, which reveals further details of the interior like a hanger bay with a TIE Advanced fighter. Couple it with the Millennium Falcon (75257) for an excellent display of Star Wars sets on your shelves.

Minifigures for Days

Among the most remarkable features of the set is the amount of included minifigures, which make up an extensive list of characters. Some of which come with multiple different versions like Luke Skywalker. He appears with both his early Episode IV look as well as his black, Return of the Jedi fit, signalling his mastery over The Force after his training with Yoda. The rest of the included characters are as follows:

  • Darth Vader
  • Emperor Palpatine
  • Chewbacca
  • Princess Leia
  • R2-D2
  • Grand Moff Tarkin
  • Ben Kenobi

There are also more "generic" minifigures like the Imperial Officer, Imperial Crew, Stormtrooper, Death Star Trooper, Imperial Navy Trooper, Imperial Astromech, Imperial Death Trooper, Interrogation Droid and the MSE-6-G715T. Moreover, there are a number of weapons and accessories that come with these miniature versions of our characters. Lightsabers and blasters are, of course, plentiful here. And finally, the cute details that remind us of the films' cherished scenes include a jail cell with a breakaway wall, a rotating seat for Palpatine and a control room with buttons and levers. It doesn't include the Trench Run Diorama (75329), obviously, but it would certainly be an attractive complementary set for the Death Star.

Death Star (75159): Price UK

The LEGO Star Wars - Death Star (75159) starts at around £900, which is an exorbitant price, to say the least. Feels ridiculous to say, but yes, the set is meant for ages 16 and up. The building process also takes a long time to finish as expected. If you're looking for something flashy yet much cheaper, the AT-AT (75288) set is what you're looking for.
