This Three Little Piggies logic game from Smart Games is a problem solving toy that helps develop various skills in kids as young as 3 years. It is a multi-level game that offers various degrees of difficulty to help keep things interesting as little ones play and learn. Skills that are developed in this game are visual and spatial perception, logical thinking, higher cognitive thinking and reasoning. Kids who like the story of the 3 little piggies are likely to enjoy this game very much, though it can also be played and enjoyed by those who are new to the tale.
Smart Games Three Little Piggies
The game is very well designed and is simple yet challenging for children to play. It includes a game board, 3 little houses, 4 figurines in the form of 3 pigs and a wolf, a booklet with 48 challenges and a picture story book.
Levels
The game has 4 different levels of difficulty:
- Starter
- Junior
- Master
- Expert
These are divided across day time and night time challenges. In day challenges each of the 3 pigs must be located outside the houses when the puzzle is complete while in night time challenges, they must be inside and the wolf, outside.
Fun Challenges
Recommended for ages 3 and up, Smart Games' Three Little Piggies solution-based game offers entertaining logic tasks and, due to the simplicity of the design and the story attached, it is easy for young kids to learn. The tasks of fitting together the pieces on the board is not always easy but there is always a solution. Answers to each of the tasks are included in the game booklet. Older children would be able to play alone but those aged 3 are likely to need parental guidance with each task. Parents will have to set up the board for each round and, of course, offer feedback and applause on completion of each challenge.
Smart Games have a good range of logic-based games for various age groups. Some examples include Smart Games Castle Logix, which requires the player to build a castle in various forms with bricks, Smart Games Camelot Jr where players must arrange stairways and towers so that the knight and the princess can be reunited, and Smart Games Car Games, a game where kids have to construct a car based on an image. All of Smart Games creations aim to stretch the muscles of logic and problem solving, and offer age-appropriate, challenging yet fun tasks.
