The Presonus AudioBox iTwo offers an all-in-one recording solution at a very reasonable price. Featuring full functionality with Mac, Windows and iPad, it can be a great choice for those looking for a more versatile recording experience, be it professionally or just for fun. The system includes some nicely integrated software and a number of cool secondary features that combine to enhance any recording experience. The units are compactly designed and sufficiently robust, delivering better all-round performance and much enjoyment for the recording specialist.

The interface allows for 24-bit audio to be easily recorded up to a designated frequency of 96 kHz and the result is one of high quality and distinction. USB 2.0 integration makes things handy while having analogue inputs of dual XLR combination jacks and a stereo headphone output also adds variety. The unit also includes a signal to noise ratio of 95 dB and weights just 620 g approximately. This compact style suits this portable studio well and it adds portability when it comes to ease of transport between studio and home. Notably, the device has a microphone frequency response of between 10000 to 40000 Hz and a harmonic distortion input level for a microphone of < 0.008 %.

Having a one stop shop studio solution is no easy task in such a compact design as the AudioBox iTwo and there is certainly a focus on providing the best recording performance possible. It comes as standard with the company's very own Studio One software for advanced production, and, with a user friendly setup, it is easy to see why the model receives high marks among recording professionals today. Recordings can be made quickly and conveniently while a number of optional plug-ins mean that it is easy to improve sound quality further with some loops and virtual instruments.

When the mixing aspect is complete, the user can easily present the results to the world via the free Nimbit account that comes with this model and this allows the owner to directly market and even sell a recording to a wider audience than might otherwise be the case. The Nimbit platform also integrates fully with Jango, PledgeMusic and facebook so you can share and market on social media. What the AudioBox iTwo does really well is that it manages to offer both a killer combination of hardware and software which when combined, offer a better and richer recording performance that would not be possible with both as standalones.

The AudioBox iTwo also includes a number of must-have secondary features when the unit is not actively being used. For example, it has a sturdy and robust casing that is optimally protected against external damage. The metal chassis that surrounds the device is augmented by a series of reinforced knobs and jacks that help to reduce strain on the system's circuit board inside. This not only means that it stays protected for longer but it also ensures the long-term durability of the device's components.

This device is very affordable for the functionality that it offers recording experts and it greatly pays itself back over time in terms of recording quality and lasting performance. The model is aimed at a narrow market of sound recording enthusiasts but for the level of versatility that it offers it is a welcome addition.
