Product Description
Lego Star Wars Sith infiltrator (75096) is a large, high-end set of Star Wars Legos that comes with some very famous mini figures and a good number of interactive play features. The set contains characters and the Sith Infiltrator star ship that featured in “Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace”, making it a good choice for fans of the three CGI films.
This large set has 662 pieces, and it’s priced slightly higher than similarly sized sets. It does however come with an impressive array of characters including a young Anakin, Darth Maul, R2-D2, Watto and Qui Gon Jinn. Darth Maul comes with his famous double-ended lightsabre, a reason alone to get your hands on this set! Qui Gon also has his famous green light saber. Once completed the Sith Infiltrator measures 15 cm in height, 38 in length and 29 cm in width.
One of the major highlights of this set is the electrobinoculars element. The star ship itself features retractable landing gear, an opening cockpit with space for a mini figure and folding wings. It also boasts 2 rear or front spring-loaded shooters, 3 droid probes which can be released, as well as a detachable Sith Speeder.
The set is aimed at kids aged 9-14, although younger, experienced Lego fans could complete it over a few sittings. The interactive features demonstrate that this is intended to be played with rather than merely displayed.
Complaints by reviewers on the official Lego site include the smiling face of Darth Maul and the low pieces to price ratio. However, many of these pieces are large blocks, which means that once built, the size of this set is comparable to other models in this price range.
Overall this is an ideal set for fans who like to have plenty of play features once a set is built but who also have the patience to sit and construct a complex model. The price tag may be off-putting to some parents, but the sheer number of decent mini figures could more than make up for this.
