Product Description
The GO Run Ride 4 are the fourth version of one of Skechers most popular running shoes. They were introduced to the market in late 2014 and have certainly caught the attention of both athletes and hobbyists.
This pair offers several improvements over the previous model. The most noticeable of these is a small hole right under the Achilles dip called the 'Quick-Fit'. This does not affect the fit for better or worse; its purpose is to make the process of putting the shoe on easier.
The GO Run Ride 4s also get a revised collar area. Skechers have given these shoes a narrower mould which gives you higher side walls in return. The higher collar walls and narrower moulding improve the quality of fit around the ankles. There is also a subtle change to the padding in this area. All of these upgrades result in a better overall experience in this region of the shoe.
In addition, these shoes get way more cushioning in the insole and mid-sole regions, but this added cushioning does not add weight to the shoe. In fact the cushioning system has been cautiously compressed in key areas to keep weight down and retain the very lightweight feel of the GO Run Ride 3.
The Forefoot mesh material sees a complete revamp. The stretchy mesh seen on the GRR3 toe box no longer exists, and in its place is a fabric with a lattice-like texture, a much closer knit structure. Also, now there are additional mesh panels of inner lining spanning from forefoot to rear.
One thing that a few users dislike about the GRR4 is that the out-sole does not feature any of the hard rubber commonly found in neutral running shoes to boost overall durability. However, testers have said that the shoes still hold up remarkably well over 100+ miles.
To sum up: Although Skechers decided to do an upper only design update on the GoRun Ride 4, the tweaks are all purposeful. This yearly refresh is better in terms of both form and function, and we are satisfied with the progress of the Skechers GO Run Ride series.
