Lego Duplo Forest
The Lego Duplo Forest is aimed at younger children and forms a complete stand alone set. It is an excellent starter kit for children who do not yet have any other toys from Lego. The various components enable children to re-live the excitement of visiting a zoo or wildlife park and it encourages them to play imaginatively. As with all Lego sets, this version can be built time and time again, in numerous different ways. It can also be combined with other sets and adapted to suit the changing interests or abilities of a child. Minifigures & Animals
In the Lego Duplo Forest set there are three figures, a mother, a father, and a child, plus a collection of eight different animals; two foxes, a squirrel, a bear, a bear cub, a stag, a fawn and a doe. There is a car which arrives in pieces, so children can build it themselves, a slide, a tree, a forest cave, a park gate and a barn. These familiar items help kids to form a landscape on which to place smaller decorative elements like the four flowers, four fences, picnic blanket and kettle. The smaller objects include mice, mushrooms, bees and Duplo bricks with Park Entry signs. Each piece acts as a story starter for children, whether they’d like to build an organised park, concentrate on the family picnic, or think about the kinds of foods wild animals eat.
Duplo Animals
If you are looking for an imaginative toy for the under fives, with a focus on wildlife, the Lego Duplo Forest or alternatively, the LEGO Duplo Around the World set, would be ideal. It has enough components to keep children interested, but none that are breakable or small enough to get lost easily. However, if a child is more interested in vehicles, they may prefer the Lego Duplo Fire Station, the LEGO Duplo Number Train or the Lego Duplo My First Train Set.
