It has a straightforward design that makes it very easy to operate and clean and, thanks to its stainless steel housing, it is highly durable. The unit is neat and compact had has a handy, power cord storage feature.

Two separate bowls house the chopping and grinding mechanisms and these both are clearly labelled with their respective functions. The chopper is ideal for preparing ingredients such as onion, lettuce, garlic, cucumber, tomato, ginger or mushroom for salads or pestos, for example. Vegetables and nuts can also be chopped in the chopper component, while the grinder is designed for processing the likes of whole coffee beans and dried spices into a powder form. Both wet and dry ingredients can be used in the device and each bowl can hold up to 70 g, which is not a huge amount, but should suffice for most recipes or dishes for a couple of people. Some sample recipes are included in the user manual for the Wahl James ZX889 (included with delivery) to get you started.
To use, simply place the ingredients into the desired bowl, insert it onto the base element, cover with a lid and press down for a few seconds. As they are made of stainless steel the bowls are easy to maintain and dishwasher safe.
