These Texas Instruments MAX232N devices are designed to convert between TTL voltage levels (0 to 5V) and TIA/EIA-232-F levels (±30V). They operate from a single 5VDC power supply with charge-pump capacitors for situations where multiple supply voltages are not available such as battery powered or compact systems.
