Good cooker so far, used it for a week and it cooks well. Only issue is the ignition doesn’t work every time on the right burner, so used a gas lighter instead. Other than that good little oven. Although did see it cheaper inline after purchase.
We have had the stove for only 3 weeks. The burners are so hot I have had to buy a heat diffuser as everything burns, it has 2 settings, 'too hot' and 'much too hot'. The stove has been treated well, but the catch to close the lid broke after a week, and the foot/stand has has now snapped making the cooker unstable - both are made of very brittle plastic. I shall be asking for a refund. The overall design is poor and the construction cheap and shoddy.
Great for boiling the kettle but thats about it, its far to hot to actually cook anything without burning. The plastic catch that locks it together broke the first trip it was used, and after about another 6 trips, the handle has snapped off and we're down to two legs. Build quality horrendous! Far better cookers out there for half the price that won't fall apart.
I have used other camping stoves....but this is the best by far..5stars would definitely recommend it
We bought this to replace a very old gas camping stove and have been very pleased with it. It produces an excellent amount of heat and is very good on gas consumption.
It is a little larger than others, but not excessively so. The only minor thing is that the catch is a bit flimsy & awkward to fasten. Other than that, a first-rate cooker.
ours is four years old and has survived well. the catch is not great i use a bungy rope to hold our shut, however 5 stars its great on gas consuption and with a little patience you can get the heat quite low
We spent a small fortune on equipment for our first camping trip and really glad we forked out a little more this stove.
Yes it feels and sounds a little flimsy but this is not gonna be chucked over your back on a hiking trip.
Yes the catch isn't the strongest but ours worked and still works fine.
Now, the heating side of this stove is superb and I was running from a 7kg butane bottle and used it on the "Hi-Gear" cooking workstation and I don't think a tornado would have affected the flame or the cooking power.
The only negative point we would have to say about this stove is when reducing to the lower heat it really didn't have that much of an effect to the power. Can I recommend the manufacturers look into having a "raising attachment" to be able to lift the pans higher away from the flames.
So, to sum it up...a great purchase we're really pleased with that just needs to be looked after and watchout for that lower heat setting.
I bought this last summer and by October the catch had broken, the lid was bent and the ignition only works intermittently. I bought this over a cheaper one because I thougth I was getting a quality product but or the money the build quality is terrible.
On the plus side it has been really great on fuel.
This is a good stove. Cooks effectively, auto ignition useful and works well. Not sure about all the super fuel efficiency advertised, I used exactly the same amount of gas in a fortnight as I used to with my old cooker. Plastic bits are rather flimsy - the catch on the front the holds it together when moving around did not survive one trip.
We bought this for family camping trips after much research and was swayed to spend a little more due to the promises of the technology saving gas consumption. We had a set of brand new Coleman pans but as soon as we tried to fry bacon on the lowest burner setting it just blackened the base of the pan and was a furnace in the middle with little or no heat around the edge. We thought it was the pans so went out and bought another cheaper set but the same thing happened. The heat from the burners does not spread as on traditional camping stoves so completely useless. Go Outdoors were very good and gave us a full refund but really disappointing and for £70 you expect a lot more so avoid these as they're not fit for purpose!
This cooker was a disappointment to our Group. The wind protection is good but the first time we used the Cooker The plastic support/foot snapped off leaving us with an unstable cooker that needed to be propped up for the rest of the trip. Maybe we bought a faulty one but we'll be asking for our money back and we'll be buying a better make. Real shame :-/
It also kept slipping down the table because it doesn't have rubber feet. Perhaps something they could add in the future?
We purchased this in April to replace our old Camping Gaz 2 ring burner. We have been away in Europe for 9 weeks and used it possibly a dozen times. The right hand igniter did not work and we found it hard to simmer cooking due to the burners being too hot. On return home I also found the catch for the lid broken. I agree with the review above this catch is no fit for this product.
So we returned to our local Go Outdoors store to report our findings. Great customer service they replaced it no quibble, fantastic. well I have retried it igniter works well, Burner seems to be more controllable, The catch is the same not sure how long this will last. Still seem a good product despite the above. Well done Go Outdoors
Bought as upgrade from single burner, performs fantastic. Quick to cook with and easy to use, went with the advice to switch to Calor as far better value. Only gripe is that it didn't come with a bag but other than that I couldn't be happier.
Recently purchased to replace ageing stove. Used twice so far on camping trips and very impressed with performance. Fast heating, easy to use and transport. One small tiny design element really let's it down - the hinge to hold the lid pen. Poor design, poor quality and in windy conditions on last trip found it a battle to stop the lid falling onto hot pans.
Great for cooking quick and does not blow out with the wind
The plastic catch which secures the lid is weak as is the support which holds the lid in the open position (cheaply made). One knob fell off when the stove was removed from the box. I had to open the split in the brass shaft and refit the knob. Why the large plastic feet? They make the stove less compact. It works well but I have only used it in the caravan awning so have not tested it in windy conditions. Would I buy it again? Only if the burner system was incorporated in a better designed and less cheaply made product.
Great cooker wind proof burners are excellent glad i chose this one
