Not bad, very comfy but stretches loads quickly

Good beginner shoe, grippy and mega comfy. Very easy to break them in. although stretches one size quick
Deffo worth investing in this shoe but go at least one size less than your street size

FIVE TEN Rogue VCS Climbing Shoe - Mens

I've just recently started climbing and owned a really cheap pair of horrible shoes so needed to look for something that'll help me improve yet not brake the bank as I'm new to the sport.

An outstanding investment at a great price. They start off tight though after 3/4 sessions of 4/5 hours they've slackened off and fit perfectly, (exactly as the member of staff had recommended).

The grip was a little slippy during my first session, I think this may have been as they were brand new. Though now they've been a little roughed up and worn in - they are light years better than a cheap pair half the price.

Excellent toe and heel grip, comfortable enough to stand in while belaying for hours and plenty or climbs without taking them off. I honestly couldn't be happier. Hugs your ankle and upper really well with no feel or fear that they may slip due to heel/toe hooks.

If you buy cheap you buy twice, I learned the hard way and wish I bought these first off months ago. Already I'm climbing above my last grades and smashing what I previously struggled with. Practice of course, though the Five Ten shoes are incredible at what they're meant to do and also look the part.

Couldn't recommend them enough!

Good all-rounder

These shoes are comfortable for long multipitch yet have a good shape for those looking to progress their single pitch or indoor climbing.

The grip is brilliant but the fit is a little too loose. I got these on offer around £50 and I would say they are worth the money at that range. However, at full price I'd probably look for a different shoe with a better fit and laces.

Worth the money!

Bought these to compliment the advances I have made in climbing since I started. Originally I used ClimbX Xfactor shoes however I noticed very quickly they could not keep up with the bouldering very well.

Bought the rogues after trying a few makes and models on and in general I am very pleased. The grip is good especially for indoor climbing use however I noticed that I felt like they had no grip at all when we did some outdoor climbing, though I suspect this was my fault as I had allowed mud to get onto the shoe before climbing.

My only thing I would really criticise is the fabric on the heel, after 2 climbing sessions on an indoor wall I noticed wear and tear coming fast to this area, the positioning is bad if you prefer to heel hook onto more difficult bouldering routes, I suspect it will wear through in a couple of months.

All in all though a very good shoe, if I had more money I would of bought a higher spec shoe though.

Good all rounder climbing shoe

Let's not mess around here, 5:10 are one of the strongest climbing shoe brands in existence and that rubber in the mission impossible film. the one that sticks to glass - yeah that's one of theirs to (the vxi stuff) well the C4 rubber on these rogues isn't too bad either in fact if you're having trouble with it then it's more likely your climbing that's at fault. The shoes themselves as the title suggests are a good all rounder all day wearing shoe but they're no match for the Mythos from la sportive. Fit wise Velcro shoes are always hit or miss and will always struggle to match the snug fit and tightness of lace ups but with Velcro you have the luxury of quickly whipping them off. Fit wise I find them loose due to the higher volume of the men's cut in the design. I do wish they'd quit referring to them as men's and women's shoes, in climbing we want low volume, normal and high volume fit depending upon foot shape. Many men with narrow foot shape will want the women's version as the men's will be saggy across the bridge of the foot. Some women with wide feet will almost definitely need the men's version or they'll be crushing the toes. All in all a good comfortable shoe if you want one pair of shoes and only one pair. As your climbing progresses you'll be buying more specific shoe types for specific areas of climbing but by then you'll also know for yourself how to pick the shoes that are right for you. For starting out though, yes these are good, for sending that 8a probably look else where.
