Used this tent a couple of times when cycling with my e bike and trailer. Lots of room, easy to put up and sturdy. I can even fit the bike inside the vestibule. Go Outdoors should sell the footprint.

Best tent you can buy in this price range and better than others at twice the price. Stood up to some nights of very heavy rain and wind. Completely dry for whole week away, a very good buy.

Excellent tent . Stood up too 50mph winds and torrential rain on trip to Isle of Mull in may. Not a leak or bit of damage to the tent . Was dry inside . Loads of room inside .great tent

Bought this tent on the back of Vangos reputation for knowing what they’re doing when it comes to tent design etc.
Found it quite easy to put up, but as others have said the pegs are flimsy in anything other than virgin soil. If there are pebbles etc underneath forget it and buy some better ones. Good and solid once put up, and handles heavy rain with ease. Used the tent a grand total of four times, the last being in the Isle of Man, where an unforcast gale in the early ours decided to flatten the tent, bending and snapping several poles, leaving us to dash for the car with whatever we could carry, and come back for the rest in the morning.
In short it’s great if you know the weather isn’t going to get REALLY bad, but don’t expect it to be bulletproof.

I usually love Vango products and still remain a committed customer but the Omega 3 has it's good and bad points. We bought 8 of these as Scout Expedition tents. On the plus side they are roomy, light, the fabric and stitching well made, good pockets in the sleeping compartment, colourful guys - everything you expect from a Vango.

The downsides though: we've binned all the pegs as just too flimsy, all bent in even good soil. The clips to connect inner and the groundsheet incredibly fiddly esp after 12 mile expedition walk. The plastic windows do provide light but retain moisture so have to dried at pack up, slowing process down if you want to get back on the path. Guys are complex and difficult for Scouts to tie.

So a mixed review but overall a good tent but not Vangos best.

This is a fab little tent which is easy and quick to pitch and can withstand most weather conditions. I would recommend it. The only reason I have given a 4* rating is I purchased it a week before a scout jamboree and didn’t have the chance to check it before I arrived. It was the last one in the store and when I arrived at camp and went to pitch it I found that it was incomplete and missing it’s grou sheet. Luckily one of the leaders had a spare I could use as we had no alternative tents on site.

This is a cracking tent and worth the money over and over. So easy to put up and take down, lots of thought has gone into the design and space. Even got small window screens which do let lots of light in. Well vented and perfect for three person expeditions.

As a scout leader, the tentage that I buy I feel needs to reflect the robust and diverse range of camping activities that I do. Having purchased this tent 2 years ago, I can guarantee that I have put it through the wringer, from minus 10 to plus 28, this tent has performed. Initially I was skeptical as i needed a jack of all trades tent and I was looking for months. having decided n this tent, it has since withstood torrential rain (AKA summer in Scotland) sub zero conditions, sweltering heat and it has coped admirably. It could do with a small increase in the ventilation in the tent as well as increasing the hydrostatic head on the groundsheet, however these are small niggles. The insect mesh is, in my book, officially midge proof and the tent can be pitched under midge duress in under 5 mins with only 5 pegs (although there had better not be any wind!). It has also coped with sustained 40mph winds (gusting 55) over a 24 hour period. I have a small gripe, proper bright colour coordinated poled would ease the pitching for a beginner, however electricians tape or coloured duct tape is an easy solution to this.

In reflection, this is one of the best tents I have ever bought myself and I will be investing again for my troop. If you are looking for an all rounder tent for Dof E, week long camping in the UK an overseas, look no further than this tent. you will not be disappointed.

My wife & I slept in a two man dome tent for a weekend and found it really cramped and claustrophobic. SO we went to Go Outdoors to look for a tent that gave more space, but was still nice and compact for packing in the boot of the car, for weekend camping. We tried a few tunnel tents, but we really liked the Omega as it gave a good head high inside the inner tent and the 'porch' area is just about as roomy again. It's also really easy to get into and out of and you don't feel link you're crawling in and out on your hands and knees.
We're no seasoned campers, so we were really pleased at the ease of erecting the tent. The poles are colour coded and the same colours are repeated on the fly sheet. I'm used to old flat ended, steel tent pegs, so the pointed aluminium ones that come with the Omega seemed good quality. The guy ropes are nice and bright so are easily seen and they are really easy to adjust and keep the tension.
In side the tent, the two way zip on the inner tent, meant that we could feed our mains hook up in and we liked the pocket for tucking the door into, when you have the inner tent fully open. My wife also liked the 'curtains' at the windows, at the from of the tent.
The other great thing is that the bag for the tent is a 'stuff bag' type, so there's no more stressing about not being an expert tent packer, and not being able to fit the tent in a tight fitting, zip bag. The draw string stuff bag works well and it has straps for compression.
We're really pleased that we bought this tent and can't wait to go away in it again.

I purchased three of these tents for a Scout group. The reduced price plus a discount for scouts made the price very attractive.

I have had many tents over the years and I am impressed with this one. There are nice touches in the design such as reflective guy lines, a tub shaped porch floor and pockets to store the tension band system when not in use. If set up properly the tent is very stable with a taught inner and outer.

The tent have three hoops and on one of the three tents, one pole section was torn along the point of interconnection and of course it broke completely in no time once under pressure. Gaffer tape and a tent peg as a splint held it together overnight and Go Outdoors have promised to send a replacement pole.

On another tent there was a small tear along a seam of the inner tent close to the zip. Not bad enough to compromise the tent, but as it would get worse we are fixing it ourselves, It looks like the stitching was too close the fabric edge and as the fabric frayed the seam came loose.

The pole and seam knock one star off a 5 star rating, though the nub is that I would buy again for either myself or the Scout group.

Just used my new tent over the 1st cold and windy bank holiday weekend. Wind at times gusted a Force 7, there was some rain and the tent was solid as a rock!
The clever tension band system straps and pegged out guylines :-) worked well.
If you have ever put up a tent in pouring rain you will appreciate this tent pitching "as one" or "fly sheet first" as both options mean the inner tent stays dry.
If the tent is dry and clean when taking down leave the inner tent and living area ground sheet attached (assumes an under tent footprint has been used to keep tent clean) it will all roll up and fit in the tent bag with a little space to spare.
Tents of this price range always come with very naff pegs whatever the make (so it is no reason to mark the tent down). Ditch the pegs with the tent as they always bend and if transport weight is and issue get 5mm titanium hook shaped pegs for soft parts of tent and titanium v shaped titanium pegs for the guylines.
Light weight campers - This 5kg tent transports fine in an 80ltr strong wheelie bag which means you an hop on a train with it and leave the car at home. I don't drive and this is how I transport it.
DofE users could easily separate the tent and back pack with it.
Tent is very spacious inside and feels like a big tent, but in miniature.
Vango - please stitch some mini Velcro tabs to the living area ground sheet and the bottom of the tent for next years model.
Potential to become a very popular tent appealing to many different users.

We bought this tent when we started touring in Europe 4 years ago and the space that it provides far outweighs the niggles, which we have got around. Every time we have used it we have 'tweaked' what we take and have now solved the main problems that we have. I bought the footprint to go underneath which is also handy for finding best position for pitching and the pesky little twigs and stones that seem to find their way under the most inconvenient places. I bought the adventure tarp which not only solves the issuse of water coming in when you unzip the door in the rain but is also a nice extension for boots etc in the dry. We got over the issue of the gap between porch groundsheet and side of tent by taking bits of sticky back velcro it works a treat no draft or little lakes and just peels off when we move on. Overall we love this tent it has plenty of space for leathers and boots etc and the whole lot goes in our top box.

Vango's Omega 350 is a decent sized three person tent. I used it over the course of an 8 week trip across Austria, Italy and Croatia on a variety of terrains in hot sun, light rain and winds. Whilst I have no issue with the overall aesthetics and shape (initially the design of the tent was very attractive) the overall quality and build of the tent leaves something to be desired; I returned the tent after two months and was content with an 80% reimbursement. Pitching the tent was vexatious to say the least; the quality of the pegs and poles mean that even in moderately soft ground you'll be searching for a vice to bend them back in to shape before too long. Unless pitching on absolutely flush surfaces it is almost impossible to create a perfectly taut shape. This can obviously cause issues with drainage especially in damp weather. The overall ventilation of the tent is OK but I'm yet to be convinced by removable inners; whilst there is a mesh on the door to the sleeping compartment the vestibule is exposed, meaning the tent fills up wth creepies and bugs in no time at all. The water proofing is OK but again the detachable inner means that water will always find a way into the vestibule, especially if you are pitching on uneven ground or in lengthy grass. For the price, this isn't a bad tent; it's compact, simple and cheap; I can understand why it is DoE recommended. But if you're looking for something a little more comfortable and long lasting, I'd recommend spending a little more for a better quality tent.

We bought this tent a couple of months ago, used it twice so far. For 2 people it is really spacious, you have plenty of room and it is really stable.
There is one thing though that we really don`t like about it, the clips. They are really difficult to use and we managed to break one already....My fingers are totally red and hurt by the time we build the tent up or by the time we unclip everything. That`s why we don`t even use the groundsheet in the packing area, we bought a separate one.

Bought this tent in the January Sale after reading a lot of other reviews. Tent looks great, bag is great, perfect size for me and my gf to go camping and hiking in the summer.

Following some of the other reviews I would highly suggest the following:
- Buy a groundsheet (2.5m x 5m £10 Homebase) to go underneath, the groundsheet on this tent is a little thin. You can curl this up round the edge between outer and inner for added protection.
- As other reviews say, the clips are a right B**** to undo so I bought some cheap carabineers (Circa £5 for x10 on Amazon) and will use these instead for ease of use.
- Complaints about water coming in when you open the side door, yes this will happen due to the nature of the shape but I also bought a "Vango Adventure Tarp" that fits nicely over the front door, stopping rain and offering more outside space. Perfect... I hope!

I've used this tent for a few car camping trips now and it has a lot of plus points. The huge living space is great and it seems to stand up to heavy rain and strong winds well. The alloy poles are so much better than fibreglass. I bent one (no idea how it happened) putting my tent up on a dark stormy night and I think I'd have been sleeping in my car if I had fibreglass poles. It still works, just can't attach all the inner tent hooks now. My main negative is the huge gap between the bottom of the flysheet and ground which as well as allowing a huge draft in also lets water blow underneath in very bad weather, getting the inner tent wet and creating a small lake in the porch groundsheet which doesn't overlap much with the fly. It wouldn't cost much to put a skirt around the bottom of the tent. I find the porch groundsheet pretty useless and just use a regular tarpaulin now which is more robust and sufficiently wide to create a better overlap in bad weather. I also put a tarp under the inner tent, being careful that no water can blow between it and the bottom of the inner tent. Someone else mentioned the guy lines: They are a bit odd. One other thing, it would be useful if there was a fly screen on both doors for maximum ventilation in hot weather. I'd rather money was spent on that than on windows. Oh, and the impossible to use plastic D hooks...WHY?? Overall I recommend the tent, though if money was no object I'd always go for a Robens tent (maybe a small dreamer) instead, much better quality all round.
