Used once and the end section broke when reeling in a 2lb Rainbow Trout on the 5th of May this year (2018). I've had about 15 different rods but this is by far and away the worse one. Wish Go Outdoors would sell Daiwa/Shimano rods as I have never had a problem with them.
love this rod first time out I caught a 6 pound common carp handled it with no problems would advise to get one
I purchased this after having bought and used it's little 10foot sister .this rod is just as good as the smaller rod and have been happy with its action however it is a fair bit heavier so would not want to use it for long periods say roach fishing where alot of casting is required .still very good value though
I've been using one of these rods for about 8 months, mainly for light float work on the Birmingham Fazeley Canal.
So far I've had lots of small roach and perch as well as a number of skimmers to over a pound and this rod has been superb. It's one of the best value for money float rods out there.
If you're a beginner angler, this is the perfect light weight float rod to start with.
Cheap rod but don't let this fool you, first session landed 6 carp all 5 to 8lb and plenty of silver fish, light weight and easy to handle!
Delivery was terrible though I was surprised the rod was in one tact as the triangle cardboard sleeve it was in was bent in two!!!
Broke the tip off my match rod last week and it's going to take a couple of weeks to be repaired, so as I didn't want to miss my weekly fishing trips, thought i'd buy a cheap n cheerful rod to use while awaiting repair of my best rod, and Wow what a great little rod for next to no money, £9.99 and then another 10% off for the current promotion, anyway bought the rod this morning took it to my favourite lake, and set it up, (I always bait the hook when setting my float up, and did so and cast out, really nice feeling rod, slightly heavier than what i'm used to but not a problem, float hit the water settles and dips I stake and a nice little roach (8oz) on the hook, this was the start of a good days fishing, managed to catch a 1 1/2 lb perch a few 1lb perch, loads of roach from tiny to about a pound, some rudd a few good bream to a couple of pounds and even a Mirror carp at 4 lb a great days fishing with a nice mixed bag of fish, the rod handled great, and for under a tenner, you can't go wrong, for someone starting fishing it's ideal to learn on, it's great as a back up rod too, i'll be leaving it in my kit bag when my main rods fixed, might fish them together and see how it performs against my Diawa..
Perfect for float fishing, also its a good rod for new anglers. The fights you can have with this rod is amazing, the only down fall i have with this is i dont know what TC it is. Also its held a few good fish for me, but i dont know its limits
Bought this and the 12' feeder for my son as he's new to angling. He loves it! Used for for float fishing and handles really well. Caught some decent Roach and Bream with this. Reel seat screw thread can become a little uncomfortable if you hold it for long periods but that's true of most rods these days - even those 3 times the price of this! Hand over your 10'er and get one now!
In use now for the past 3 weeks ..Great rod for its money.. Very light , sensitive to bites ,, Should have bought two..Oh why not
excellent purchase for my son's first fishing rod caught loads of fish on his first fishing trip
I landed a 12lb Carp using this rod and 6lb float gear! It's fantastic value for money!
