The Franzis Alarm System kit detects intruders by measuring the slight variation in air pressure caused by opening doors and windows. This is called 'volumetric' sensing and has been used extensively in car alarms, not to be confused with the vibration alarms that are also used. This type of sensing means there are no wires to route around your house or office, just place the alarm and switch it on. You can adjust the sensitivity to monitor doors and windows in adjacent rooms. The alarm system also has an input and an output connector where you can freely attach other devices. You can connect your own additional sensors like reed contacts or photo sensors to the input. The output allows for alarm indication by means of other alarm devices.
The sensitivity, delay, alarm duration, type of the alarm signal and mode (standard mode, info mode and stealth mode) can be selected as needed. Querying the alarm counter indicates how often the alarm has been raised (0 up to a maximum of 7 times). All electronic components are included in the kit. Only a few components have to be soldered to the pre-assembled circuit board, which is already fitted with SMD components. In designing the circuit board, special attention has been paid to the soldering pads. They have been built in such a way that all components can be soldered on successfully even with little experience.
