The 35S24M2NGFF SATA mounting adaptor from StarTech.com allows you to add up to four M.2 solid state drives (SSDs) in the same space as an ordinary 3.5in SATA drive. The M.2 SSDs will allow you to use the full potential of your SATA III controller, with reduced data transfer bottlenecks and file transfer rates of up to 6Gbps.
This versatile adaptor has a wealth of possible uses. When paired with a suitable RAID controller, the 4 x M.2 SSDs can be used to create a high-performance RAID for increased drive capacity and added redundancy for your precious data. Alternatively, all four drives can be combined to appear as one, for storing large files such as digital media and accessing them at high speed.
The adaptor is designed to support a wide range of M.2 NGFF SSDs, including 2230, 2242, 2260, 2280 and 22110 drive sizes. It's also compatible with Windows®, Mac®, and Linux® systems without additional drivers or software.
