A lightweight and versatile mountain softshell jacket built for warmer days in alpine conditions.
Designed for long summer days in the mountains, the Montane Dyno Stretch Jacket will keep you comfortable and covered when worn alone, over a baselayer, or as part of a layering system during more hostile weather.
Made using Chameleon Kinetic* fabric, it wicks hard, dries fast and boasts four way stretch, so no matter how physical the movement, the Dyno Stretch Jacket will work with you.
Technically tailored, durably constructed, very practical and easy to wear, it will keep you comfortable for many seasons to come.
DESIGN
Articulated arms and ‘active back’ darts allow for high reach movement without hem lift
HOOD
Fully adjustable helmet-compatible hood with three point adjustment and wired peak
Internal elastic loop with hook on rear lets you roll it up and and stow it away in windy conditions
POCKETS
Two OS map-sized A-line mesh-lined hand pockets
Two chest pockets, perfect for storage of GPS or electronic devices
*Montane's Chameleon Kinetic is a very lightweight non-membrane softshell, which is wind resistant, breathable and fast drying. It offers a good balance of abrasion resistance vs low weight. Danier gradient fabric construction means the fabric wicks away moisture very well, and the DWR means it will bead light rain.

Take your actual body measurements as they are more accurate than measuring over your clothes or shoes.
CHEST: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, making sure to keep the tape under the arms and around your shoulder blades.
WAIST: Measure around the smallest part of your waist (natural waistline).
HIPS: Stand with your heels together and measure around the fullest part.
INSIDE LEG: Measure from the top of your inner leg, along the inside seam to the bottom of your leg.
Bought this jacket as a summer outer layer have found it to be excellent quality and comfortable, only thing is I had to buy xxxl to get a good fit and I am only a 42/44 chest? However I will be buying Montane in the future
Bought Montane Dyno Stretch softshell for general use both on the hills and in town. It has proved to be an excellent purchase - light, stretchy, comfortable, shower-proof, breathable. An all round great jacket for 3 seasons on its own, and I'm sure when doubled up with a fleecy for winter use too.
Very good
Excellent quality great buy
I bought this as a summer soft shell jacket for walking and climbing and my first impressions are good. I've got a fair amount of montane kit which I've been pretty impressed with so far and this doesn't seem to be any exception.
It is a very basic jacket, i.e it doesn't have any fancy membranes inside or any pit zips, but with it being so thin and light, it really doesn't need them. Its very stretchy, which will make it ideal for climbing in.
Its well made as with most other montane items and light enough to stuff in your pack. The hood states its helmet compatible but it does seem slightly on the small side, fine if your helmet is slimline but a helmet compatible hood is really only something Id be looking for on a full on winter shell, not a lightweight summer jacket.
Is it worth £100? Maybe not quite that much but its a very new item at the moment so I don't expect it to be reduced any time this season, but with go outdoors running 10/15% off offers most of the year round you can't go wrong for a few quid less!!
I love montane stuff... but not this one. It looks great, feels great, comfy, excellent build quality but.... the fabric (which would make an excellent minimalist pullover) offers almost no wind resistance, barely any noticeable warmth and, whilst it has a good water resistant coating in theory I find that any wind (and there’s always some wind! ) will blow the rain straight in. In short I don’t see any way in which this jacket is a shell and due to all the pockets and ott good design it doesn’t layer very well either - but offer no warmth anyway. I’ve tried and tried to find a use for it but simply can’t. Unfortunately I spent too long trying to like it so couldn’t get a refund. Your needs may be different and you might think it’s the best think ever but for me - it a disappointing miss match of material vs design.
