My daughter loves sarah jane just as much as dr who. I have bought this dvd as a suprise for her birthday. Watched it first and it is a childrens version of a dr who adventure. Aliens and a plot that children will understand but not be scared. Just a shame I cannot find anymore sarah jane adventures on dvd.
First off iam 22yrs old When i first sat down and watched this i thought not another spin-off,but this one was ace.The fact that Sarah is my favourite companion ever goes a long way towards my enjoyment of this episode despite the fact that it is really for children, children's television does not mean that it is second rate and not worth the attention of adults if it is made well and I had a very enjoyable hour on New Years Day when it was transmittered watching this with my 2 year old daughter, she loved it. she likes all stuff with Doctor Who and Who related as she remembers all their faces. Elisabeth Sladen slips back into the character of Sarah Jane with uncanny ease, just as she did in School Reunion a series 2,in Doctor Who she was always just 'the assistant' however good, but here she takes the lead and new facets to her character emerge, ones that were not necessarily evident in Doctor Who and I look forward to seeing how she develops in this tv series. Elisabeth Sladen's co-stars are children of course and there have been many shows from the past spoiled because of the inability of many children to act convincingly, but here they have struck gold, the main girl in the show is a lovely little actress and gels instantly with Sladen and sets up the series nicely. All in all this is a pleasant little kids adventure that is entertaining to adults also and will provide more of that 'Doctor Who' atmosphere than Torchwood ever can. Roll on more DVDs and lets hope she gets a series 2Read full review
Just a fantastic DVD for any Sarah Jane fan. Sarah Jane used to be Dr Whos sidekick some years ago and The Sarah Jane adventures are basically a spin off. Very similar to Dr Who so would attract the same audience, lso a big hit with children, my 3 year old son is obsessed.
I got this for my friends 6yr old who is such a big fan of Dr Who and Sarah Jane, as a xmas present. So Im sure he will be pleased he can watch it over and over again.
